<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gyro sensor capable of determining rotation direction and highly accurately measuring a fine rotation angle velocity with a compact and simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: Laser light from an LD 1 is branched into first light L<SB POS="POST">1</SB>and second light L<SB POS="POST">2</SB>having different polarization states by a polarization splitter 4 serving as a branch part and polarization filters 5, 6 and the first light L<SB POS="POST">1</SB>and the second light L<SB POS="POST">2</SB>pass through an annular fiber 7 in mutually opposite directions. The annular fiber 7 includes a medium in which the speed of passing light varies in accordance with polarization state in at least a part of the annular fiber 7. Interference light between the first light L<SB POS="POST">1</SB>and the second light L<SB POS="POST">2</SB>having passed through the annular fiber 7 is detected by a photoelectric conversion part 8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
