PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement, in a system which allows for remote control of a television set using an information terminal, a system which is easier to use, and with which mistaken operations occur less easily, than before.

SOLUTION: A system 10 comprises a television set 1 and a smartphone 2 for operating the television set 1. The television set 1 issues a notification of the state thereof to the smartphone 2. The smartphone 2 displays on a touch panel a GUI corresponding to the state whereof the notification has been issued from the television set 1.
