The medical resector (10) has a spindle (13) and a suction opening (54) for suction of a fluid at a distal end (12) of the spindle. A rotating electrode (31) is provided, which is arranged distal to the suction opening. The rotating electrode is displaceable relative to the suction opening. The rotating electrode is displaceable in a direction parallel to its rotational axis (38). A shaft (32) is provided for transmitting a torque and a rotational movement to the rotating electrode. The shaft is arranged in a guide tube (18).
