<p>The method involves moving a gripping element (6) in a rolling direction (W) by a robot (5). A gripped workpiece (1) with a front end is introduced in to roller engagement between rollers (2) of roller pairs. Another robot (8) is arranged with a gripping element (9) for gripping axial front end of the workpiece is arranged in an outlet region (7) of a forging roll machine after release of the latter robot by the former robot. The gripping element is movable in to the rolling direction by the robot. The workpiece with a rear end is introduced into the roller engagement between the rollers. An independent claim is also included for a rolling machine for preforming a block-shaped, round, oval or square-shaped metallic workpiece.</p> |
