<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which allows a cartridge support member to be drawn out in an obliquely upward direction from a mounting position to a drawn-out position and provides an excellent operability for a user. <P>SOLUTION: A printer 1 comprises a body casing 2, a cartridge support member 10, a movement restricting member 100, and a movement restriction releasing means 101. The cartridge support member 10 supports a plurality of cartridges 13 and can be drawn out obliquely upward from a mounting position in which it is mounted to the body casing 2 to a drawn-out position for attaching and detaching the plurality of cartridges to and from the body casing 2. The movement restricting means 100 can be switched to a restricting state in which the movement of the cartridge support member 10 toward the mounting direction from the drawn-out position to the mounting position is restricted or to a restriction releasing state in which the restriction of the movement of the cartridge support member 10 toward the mounting direction is released.
