<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress increase of coarse particles caused by toner coalescence, efficiently apply uniform heat treatment and enable stable production, in heat treatment of toner particle. <P>SOLUTION: Thermal treatment equipment for powder particles including a binder resin and a coloring agent comprises: a cylindrical processing chamber for heat-treating the powder particles; a columnar member 6 arranged in a projecting manner from a lower end to an upper end of the processing chamber: powder particle supply means 2 for supplying the powder particles to the processing chamber; hot wind supply means 3 for heat-treating the supplied powder particle; and collecting means 5 for discharging the heat-treated powder particles from a toner discharge port provided at a lower end side of the processing chamber outward of the processing chamber and collecting the heat-treated powder particles. The heat wind supply means is configured such that hot wind is supplied along an inner peripheral surface of the processing chamber. The powder particle supply means is configured by a plurality of particle supply port formed in an outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical member.
