IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, CALCULATING METHOD OF TONER CONSUMPTION, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate toner consumption for every printing.

SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus counts the number of pixels of image data for every pixel value and every attribute for discriminating pixels with an edge attribute from pixels with a non-edge attribute, determines which one of the pre-classified multiple environment the current operation environment is on the basis of an output of a sensor, calculates toner consumption for every pixel value and every attribute on the basis of the number of pixels counted for every pixel value and every attribute and a coefficient that complies with the environment defined and determined for every pixel value and every attribute; and calculates the sum of the obtained toner consumption as toner consumption in forming toner images.
