<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic light-emitting element which ensures highly efficient light emission while facilitating the control of the amount of dopant. <P>SOLUTION: The organic light-emitting element has a first electrode, a second electrode, and a luminous layer interposed between the first and second electrodes. The luminous layer contains a host and a first dopant, and the first dopant is an organic light-emitting element expressed as follows: Ar1, Ar2 represent an aromatic hydrocarbon or an aromatic heterocycle. M is an element of group 8, 9 or 10 in the periodic table. R<SB POS="POST">1</SB>represents an alkoxy group or an alkylthio group.
