<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition from which a lithium ion secondary battery having excellent cycle characteristics can be obtained, and an electrode having superior adhesion with a copper foil being a raw material of the electrode and also having superior flexibility can be obtained, and to provide a lithium ion secondary battery. <P>SOLUTION: A resin composition for an electrode of a lithium ion secondary battery contains a straight chain polyimide resin (A) having a weight average molecular weight of 4,000 to 60,000 and an acid value of blocked carboxyl groups of 30 to 90 KOHmg/g, and a straight chain epoxy resin (B) having two epoxy groups in a molecule and an epoxy equivalent of 250 to 1,000.
