<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera able to perform a high speed focus adjustment operation even in an environment that uses auxiliary light. <P>SOLUTION: A photographic lens 11 is subjected to scanning, an AF auxiliary light source 35 alternately repeats an off state and an on state, and an AF evaluation value calculating circuit 19 calculates an AF evaluation value at a different position of the photographic lens 11. The focusing position of the photographic lens 11 is detected by selecting a focusing position P2 based on the peak of an AF evaluation value curb AFV1 when the AF auxiliary light source 35 is off or a focusing position P1 based on the peak of an AF evaluation value curve AFV2 when the auxiliary light source 35 is off. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
