<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit parallax information in such a way that receive processing by a legacy 2D compatible receiver will not be hindered. <P>SOLUTION: A stereoscopic image data having left-eye image data and right-eye image data is output. Data for superposition information to be superposed on images by the left-eye image data and right-eye image data is output. The superposition information to be superposed on images by the left-eye image data and right-eye image data is shifted to output parallax information which is needed for adding parallax. A multiplexed stream having a video data stream including the stereoscopic image data, a first private data stream including the data for superposition information and a second private data stream including the parallax information is transmitted. In the legacy 2D compatible receiver on the receiving side, the data for superposition information is read in from the first private data stream, so that it is possible to prevent the reading-in of parallax information from hindering receive processing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
