<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the computed result of a paper reduction rate further conform to an actual situation in an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A reducible rate is computed based on a character size included in an image to be outputted and on a character size that shows to be distinguishable by visual observation. The collective printing or the reduction printing of image formation and output concerned with a print job is determined based on a table in which the execution propriety of the collective printing of images and the reduction printing of images is associated with the reducible rates, and a paper reduction rate is computed based on the number of pages of images concerned with the print job, the number of paper sheets formed with images on both sides, and the number of pages to be collected in the case of carrying out collective printing. At this time, in the case of determining the reduction printing and carrying out image formation and output on the paper of different sizes, the number of pages is corrected, and in the case of the reducible rate exceeding a predetermined threshold, the number of pages to be collected is corrected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
