<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failure detection device for a passenger conveyor capable of quickly detecting a connection failure of steps relative to a step chain. <P>SOLUTION: In this failure detection device 30 for a passenger conveyor comprising: an endless step chain 3 stretched between a drive sprocket 9 and a driven sprocket and circulated and moved; a roller 5 provided at the step chain 3; a plurality of steps 2 connected to the step chain 3; and a guide rail 6 provided along the circulation movement direction of the step chain 3 and guiding the roller 5, the failure detection device comprises: a detection piece 32 provided along the outer periphery of the drive sprocket 9 and the driven sprocket with a clearance from the steps 2 moving the outer periphery of the drive sprocket 9 and the driven sprocket; a switch 34 detecting the movement of the detection piece 32 in the direction separated from the drive sprocket 9 and the driven sprocket; and a protrusion 40 protruding from the detection piece 32 toward the steps 2 moving the outer periphery of the drive sprocket 9 and the driven sprocket. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
