ILLUMINATION DEVICE, IMAGE SENSOR USING THE SAME, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF IMAGE SENSOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an accuracy of a distance between a light source (light guide) and an original document (object to be read) by making an accumulation of dimensional variations of parts constituting an illumination device small.

SOLUTION: The illumination device, used for an image sensor which reads an object to be read which is being conveyed, comprises: light sources which are disposed facing end faces and extended in a main scanning direction; and holders into which end parts including the end faces of a columnar light guide housed in a housing are inserted. The holders includes: insertion holes into which the light guide is inserted; and holder parts to be supported formed at face sides facing surfaces having openings into which the light guide is inserted in the insertion holes, and mounted on edge portions of the housing.
