<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a mosaic image which properly represents contours of an original image. <P>SOLUTION: An image generation device 100 comprises: a first acquisition unit 61 for acquiring one original image which is a base of a mosaic image; an image division unit 62 for dividing the original image acquired by the first acquisition unit into a plurality of image areas; a second acquisition unit 63 for acquiring a plurality of material images; an image determination unit 64 for determining each similar material image which is similar to each of the plurality of image areas among the plurality of material images, on the basis of color information and a pixel value variation degree of each pixel in the plurality of image areas and the plurality of material images; and an image generation unit 65 for making a composition by combining each of the similar material images determined by the image determination unit at each position of the corresponding image area in the original image to generate the mosaic image of the original image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
