<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal which is capable of minimizing power consumption for the automatic detection of an external device while being capable of the automatic detection. <P>SOLUTION: With the start of power supply to a display 6, the portable terminal starts supply of 5 V power for the detection of a display device to an HDMI connector 2. Accordingly, while supplying power to the display 6, a display device 60 can automatically be detected. Furthermore, by starting the supply of power to the HDMI connector 2 with the start of power supply to the display 6, power supply to the HDMI connector 2 can be avoided until starting the use of the display 6, which allows for the reduction of power consumption. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
