<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AD converter and an information processing apparatus that prevent an increase in noise while suppressing a reduction in operating speed and an increase in circuit footprint. <P>SOLUTION: The AD converter having a plurality of weighted capacitors each having one end connected in common and having a capacitance value weighted at a predetermined ratio, and including at least one variable capacitance capacitor having a reducible capacitance value includes: a comparator having an input connected with the connected ends of the plurality of weighted capacitors; and a plurality of switches for connecting the respective other ends of the plurality of weighted capacitors different from the ends connected in common to any one of an input terminal into which an input signal is input, a reference voltage supply used for successive approximation of the input signal, a ground and an open terminal. The AD converter further includes: a successive approximation control section for sampling the input signal in the weighted capacitors and generating a comparison voltage to execute processing; and a capacitance control section for reducing the capacitance value of the variable capacitance capacitor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
