The occupant restraint system comprises a gas generator unit (100), and an airbag unit comprising airbags (10,12) which are filled with the gas generated by the gas generator unit, after activation of gas generator unit in the direction of occupant (8). The airbags are set to non-filled state in the housing (6) and are concealed behind a cover. The airbags are set in fluidic connection with the gas generator unit and are arranged in the housing which is arranged in front of the occupant.
