The measuring device (10) has a photo mixer arrangement (PM) with an upper photo-mixer (PM1) and lower photo-mixer (PM2). The upper photo mixer and lower photo mixer are coupled in an electrical circuit (11) to form a resulting electrical signal (IDC). The resulting electrical signal with a function of the difference frequency is measured, in a measuring unit (A) of the electrical circuit, influenced by the electrically conductive state of the photo-mixers. An evaluation arrangement (16) is formed to derive the measure of the frequency difference by the resulting electrical signal. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) measurement structure; and (2) method for determining difference frequency in THz range.
