The invention relates to a method and a system for mangagement and monitoring of a gas installation. This system comprises a flow rate indicator (14) suitable for delivering signals representing the flow rate of gas in a feed pipe (9), at least two sensors (CAP1-CAP4) suitable for delivering signals representing concentrations of toxic gases and hydrocarbons, and a management and monitoring module having a central unit for processing the signals delivered by the sensors and the flow rate indicator, programmed to order the closure of a solenoid valve (EV) when the flow rate of gas differs from the unit gas flow rates of the appliances of the installation or from one of the different possible combinations of these flow rates, or when an explosivity threshold is exceeded. <IMAGE>
