For the manufacture of the core, at least one portion (2) of a material having a cellular structure is arranged in a mould (1), the thickness of which is at least equal to the final thickness of the core to be obtained. The heated mould (1) is closed and a polymerisable substance (3) is injected. After polymerisation, the entire core, including the cellular material, is demoulded and machined by conventional means. This type of core is used for the manufacture of laminated skis and it enables the cellular material to be brought into direct contact with the upper and lower layers. <IMAGE>
