A universal clamp for securing cables (21, Fig 4) or pipes of different diameters comprises a first clamp part 1 which has a first bearing surface 5 and a second clamp part 10 which has a second bearing surface (15, Fig 2a). The first and second bearing surfaces slidingly engage when the clamp is assembled. The lowest part of the first clamp part is formed by a support 3 which has a substantially semi-circular profile and is adapted to receive a cable or pipe and cooperate with a curved profile 13 on the lower portion of the second clamp part. Further bearing surfaces 18, 24, 25 are provided on both clamp parts. Each clamp part is also provided with an opening adapted to receive a bolt which fastens and secures the clamp—the first (4, Fig 1) may be circular and the second 14 may be an elongate slot. The first clamp part further comprises a head 2 and neck 27 portions adapted to engage the clamp with an opening on a standard channel (20, Fig 4). In use, the second clamp part can be slid into position to grip a cable supported on the lower portion so that different cable sizes can be accommodated.
|
