PURPOSE: A mullite based ceramic substrate composition in which strength is improved and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to enhance electrode zygosity and sinterability. CONSTITUTION: A mullite based ceramic substrate composition uses mullite as a base. Silica is added to the mullite. The silica is 20-30 parts by weight based on weight addition of the silica and mullite. In the silica-added mullite, one or more selected from zirconia and zircon is additionally added. If zirconia is used, the silica is 20-40 parts by weight based on the weight addition of the mullite and silica. The zirconia is 0-20 parts by weight or less based on the weight addition of the mullite, zirconia and silica.
