In a security element for security papers, documents of value or the like, having a carrier (7) which has a front side (2) and a rear side (5), a lamination (13a, 12a) which is applied to the carrier (7), and an optical structure (8) which comprises an upper side (15), an underside (14) and an optical element (9), and produces a motif (3) which can be perceived visually from the upper side (15), it is provided that the carrier (7) has at least one window (4), the optical structure (9) is laid with its upper side (15) on the rear side (5) of the carrier (7) over the window (4), with the result that the motif (3) can be perceived visually through the window (4) from the front side (2), and the lamination (13a, 12a) is attached on the rear side (5) and covers the underside (14) of the optical structure (8). |
