A metering apparatus for fluids comprises a reservoir (storage bin) 1 and, attached thereto, a metering element 2 which consists of a housing 3 forming a through-channel 4, and of a delivery means 5 accommodated in the through channel and linked to a drive means 7 for metered delivery of a fluid, the reservoir and the housing being positioned on differential scales 20. In this arrangement, the delivery means is formed by an orifice plate 5 which is able to delimit a through-passage in the through-channel and which can be moved by the drive means in such a way in its plane that the area of the through- passage is altered. The drive means in this arrangement are preferably formed by an electric motor, in particular a step motor. The invention also relates to a separate metering element of the above-described type. <IMAGE>
