Food packaging comprises a food container having at least a lowermost portion [1] configured with a downwardly reducing circular cross-section permitting the container to rest in the rim of an open saucepan [12], said lowermost portion having a perforated lower surface [8]; and a removable lid [5] therefor. The container and the lid are formed from a heat-resistant polymer material, and the lid is configured to conform closely with at least the outer surface of the container, whereby when the lid is fitted over the container so as to enclose the perforated lower surface, the external volume of the lid and container is substantially the same as that of the container on its own. The entire package may be sealed by way of a removable plastic seal and the lid may include handles. |
