A pedal powered vehicle with at least one front wheel 5, and two rear wheels 13,17, which are mounted by pivot arms 11,23 to a frame 1,24, wherein the pivot arms 11,23 are mounted coaxially with the axis 22 of a driving pedal crank by means of a bearing on the frame 24. The pivot arms 11,23 have an inner cavity which contains a driving wheel (34, figure 4), a driven wheel (33 figure 4), and an endless tension element (32, figure 4) for transmitting driving force from the driving wheel 34 to the driven wheel 33. An electric motor (39, figure 4), battery pack (31, figure 4) and controller (30, figure 4) may also be included. A shock absorber provides suspension and allows limited tilting of the cycle.
