<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embossing roll for manufacturing an optical film capable of simply reproducing a processed layer, manufacturing method thereof, and the optical film. <P>SOLUTION: Since the processed layer 14 for applying irregularity is provided on a substrate plated layer 12, and a releasing layer 13 is interposed between the substrate plated layer 12 and the processed layer 14 when reproducing of the embossing roll 1 due to the generation of flaw on the processed layer 14 in production or other defect, only the processed layer 14 can be mechanically released.
