The invention provides polyether imidazolidone compounds of the formula: <CHEM> wherein R is H or alkyl having 1 to 16 carbon atoms, R<1>, R<2>, R<3> and R<4> are selected from hydrogen and alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, X is -NH2 or -OH, and a + b equals n, a number having a value of 2 to 80. The compounds in which X is OH are useful in the preparation of polyurethane foams. The compounds in which X is NH2 are useful in the preparation of polyurea elastomers, or for the curing of epoxy resins.
