Rollers in pairs are held in bearings which separate so that when not in operation the surface of the rollers will not be damaged. The two bearing surfaces are close together and by means of angled surfaces and recesses they can slide to bring the roller faces together, or separate them. The two bearings (1, 2) are brought together on assembly, in direction (A), so that faces (a1, 2a) close in proximity. The bearing (1) is lifted by another element, so that the nose (4a) of the hinged lever (4), which lies in the recess (3), is lifted above the lug (7a), and engaged by it. The lever (4) is pressed by the flat spring (5) so that it lies with its end in the slot (7), when the faces (1a, 2a) are in contact. ADVANTAGE - The bearing arrangement takes the roller operation out of action in a short movement, without the requirement of expensive equipment.
