<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a microlens array having high efficiency of condensing light without making height of a surface of a microlens so low at a boundary (point) where microlenses are adjacent to each other in an oblique 45-degree direction. <P>SOLUTION: A base of three-dimensional shape of the unit lens of the microlens array is rectangular, a contour line near a top is elliptical, and a contour line at the height Z of the three-dimensional shape is in the shape of a pseudo ellipse between a rectangle and an ellipse. The pseudo ellipse is made in shape expressed by a hyper elliptic expression ((X-Cx)/a)<SP>k</SP>+((Y-Cy)/b)<SP>k</SP>=1 by parameters (a) and (b) expressing radii of the pseudo ellipse in X and Y directions by a function of the height Z, a parameter k expressing angular degree of the pseudo ellipse by the function of the height Z, and parameters Cx and Cy expressing displacement amount from a center of the base, of X coordinate and Y coordinate of a center position of the pseudo ellipse by the function of the height Z. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
