<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method of spent fuel removing uranium in spent fuel by a solvent extraction method, without adding a reducing agent. <P>SOLUTION: The processing method of spent fuel in which uranium in spent fuel discharged form a thermal reactor is removed by the solvent extraction method includes extracting uranium into an organic solvent 8, containing TBP in an amount smaller than the minimum flow required for extraction of the total amount of uranium and plutonium with respet to a solution 7 having spent fuel 5 dissolved in nitric acid, by bringing the organic solvent 8 into contact with the solution 7; and removing a major potion of uranium contained in the spent fuel, by leaving a major portion of plutonium and a minor portion of uranium in the solution. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
