PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic polymer composition which can match the thermal characteristics and birefringence of the core portion of an optical waveguide with those of its clad portion, can reduce the diffusion of light, can easily control refractive index, and can more simply form the optical waveguide at a lower cost in high accuracy, and to provide a method for producing an optical waveguide. SOLUTION: This organic polymer composition comprising an organic polymer and fine light-transmitting particles for adjusting the refractive index of the organic polymer is characterized in that the average particle diameter of the fine light-transmitting particles is≤20 nm.
