<p>The modular building system comprises a number of rectangular cuboid building modules wherein adjacent modules are provided with at least one adjustable connector to compensate for variation in the actual dimensions of the modules compared to their nominal dimensions. The adjacent modules may be connected side to side, i.e. on the same storey or one on top of the other, i.e. stacked to create a multi storey construction. Also claimed is an adjustable connector for connecting adjacent modules to compensate for the variation in gap between modules connected by the connector. The connector has a spacer element which may include a stud 43 having a thread portion that engages a mating portion of one module for adjusting the position of the stud relative to the other module so that the stud seats against the other module. The modules may comprise a number of vertical posts or pillars with pairs connected by horizontal beams.</p> |
