A device for curing a coating, in particular a UV lacquer, on an item, in particular on a vehicle body, with electromagnetic radiation, comprises an exposure chamber (46), which is bounded by a housing (30) and into which the item (26) can be conveyed and out of which the item (26) can be conveyed again and to which inert gas can be fed by means of an inert gas device (69). Electromagnetic radiation can be produced by radiating means (86). The housing (30) comprises an inner shell (32), which at least partially bounds the exposure chamber (46), and an outer shell (34), which at least partially surrounds the inner shell (32), wherein a working chamber (36) is formed between the inner shell (32) and the outer shell (34). Radiation means (86) are arranged in the working chamber (36) in such a way that radiation has to pass through the inner shell (32) in order to get into the exposure chamber (46) and reach the coating to be exposed to the radiation. |
