The envelope (1) has a tear-off thread (3) in the form of a flat, adhesive-coated degradable strip is located in at least one fold-edge (2) of one side flap, and is stuck to the envelope paper and or to the inner lining of the envelope. In part (4) of at least one end (5) of the thread located inside the envelope, the envelope (1) has a perforation (7) to form a tear-off corner (6) covering the thread's end. The envelope is made from a continuous length of paper (8) of suitable width (9). The side edges (11) are cut by a machine (14). While the length of paper is continuously travelling, the tear-off thread is placed in the direction of travel in one side fold-edge, stuck down by pressure, and conveyed along with the paper. |
