PURPOSE: A filter unit for an injection molding machine or an extruder is provided to efficiently remove residues attached on the surface of a mesh net fixing frame and a mesh net as an air jetting part jets air in a state where a casing, the mesh net fixing frame, and the mesh net rotate. CONSTITUTION: A filter unit for an injection molding machine or an extruder comprises a housing(10), a mesh net(30), a casing(40), and an air jetting part(50). An inflow pipe and an outflow pipe are connected to both sides of the housing. A residue discharge hole(16) is formed at the bottom of the housing. The mesh net is arranged inside the housing and filters melted resin liquid flowing into the housing through the inflow pipe. The mesh net encloses the exterior of the casing. The filtered melted resin liquid passes through multiple through-holes(41) of the casing. The air jetting part jets air receiving from the outside to the residue discharge hole of the housing.
