PURPOSE: A method obtaining illumination information and material information in an image modeling system and a device thereof are provided to extract the illumination information and the material information from a pair of multi-viewpoint images photographed without a secondary device, thereby accurately extracting the information without complex processing. CONSTITUTION: A device receives each of color channel pixel values included in the same material area(610). The device receives depth values of the same material area(620). The device receives view information for the same material area(630). The device applies the color channel pixel values, the depth values and the view information to a linear system. The device extracts a material constant and illumination information of the same material area(640).
