The present invention relates to the detection of cancer markers. More particularly, to bladder cancer; to immunological compositions to diagnose, assess or prognose cancer in a human patient; to non-invasive diagnostic methods for bladder cancer. More specifically, the invention relates to immunological compositions for the non-invasive, specific and sensitive detection of bladder cancer. In addition, the invention relates to a method of preparing shedded cells from the bladder for immunocytological analysis. Particularly, the invention relates to a method of preparing cells obtained from a urine sample for urogenital cancer detection and more particularly for bladder cancer detection. Kits for bladder cancer diagnosis are also disclosed.
