PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress jitters, caused by clock reproducing relay at low cost by allowing each ATM communication equipment to respectively and independently operate in an ATM network. SOLUTION: In ATM center communication equipment 41-1 and 41-2, reproducing devices 21-1 and 21-2 respectively reproduce clocks sent from a carrier network 1, and AAL1 clock cell preparing circuits 45-1 and 45-2 covert them to ATM cell data of an AAL1 form to synchronize-transmit and to send an AAL1 clock cell to ATM remote communication equipments 42-1 to 42-6. Each ATM remote communication equipment operates by synchronization with a network clock reproduced by ALL1 cell clock reproducing circuits 46-1 to 46-6 from this cell. Consequently terminals A and A' synchronize-transmit to the carrier network 1, but terminals B to D and B' to D' are synchronized independently without synchronization with the network clock. Thereby an expensive element is not used for a voltage control oscillator VCO.
