PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for determining a location of a proximal object using an interference signal are provided to recognize the waveform of an object by using dual reference for a second proximity. CONSTITUTION: A proximal object determining apparatus includes an ultrasonic sensor module(110) and a control unit(120). The ultrasonic sensor module includes at least two ultrasonic sensors(110a,110b,110c,110d) mounted on a vehicle. Each ultrasonic sensor transmits ultrasonic waves at 340 m/s. Each ultrasonic sensor receives an echo signal reflected from the object after the ultrasonic waves are transmitted to an object(200) in a close area.
