PURPOSE: A head rest device for an automobile is provided to protect a neck by an impact from every direction. CONSTITUTION: A head rest device for an automobile comprises a trim cover, a support frame(120), a bracket(130), an extension portion(140), and a pair of folding portions(150). The trim cover comprises a cutout portion in one side. The support frame is supported by a middle part(125) arranged inside of the upper side of the trim cover, penetrates the passing route of the trim cover and is bent toward down in both sides, and is formed for both ends to be connected in the upper end of the back of a vehicle seat. The bracket is fixed at the center part of the support frame, and equipped with a fastening portion(131) at one side. The extension portion is extended toward down by connecting the fastening portion of the bracket, and forms a certain angle with the support frame. The pair of folding portion is installed on the both sides of the extension portion, and is formed to be able to rotate in the front direction of the extension portion.
