METHOD OF DETERMINING STATE OF ROAD SURFACE

FIELD: physics.SUBSTANCE: resonator with resonance frequency of electromagnetic oscillations which varies according to the state of the road is placed in the surface layer of inspected road section, wherein said electromagnetic oscillations are excited in said resonator by probing frequency-modulated electromagnetic waves. The frequency variation range of the probing electromagnetic waves is selected based on the condition that it exceeds the range of possible values of resonance frequency of the resonator which correspond to a specific state of the road surface. The power of electromagnetic waves reflected from the resonator and received is measured. The state of the road surface is determined from the frequency value which corresponds to the minimum received power.EFFECT: high accuracy and simple process of determining state of a road.4 dwg
