The ice screw has a hollow anchoring screw (2) that extends along a longitudinal axis (X-X'). A crank pin (11) is rotatable about an axis of rotation (T-T'). A foldable crank arm drives the screw in rotation, and comprises a tilting section (13) carrying the crank pin. The tilting section is tiltable between arm folded and deployed positions along a tilting plane. The plane is inclined by an angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the anchoring screw such that the pin is stored with its axis of rotation in a plane not parallel to the anchoring screw when the arm is in the folded position.
