PURPOSE: A composition containing an Acer barbinerve Max extract which suppresses cancer metastasis is provided to remarkably suppress cancer metastasis under cell apoptotic concentration. CONSTITUTION: An Acer barbinerve Max extract is prepared from Acer barbinerve Max barks using hot water and suppresses cancer metastasis. The extract is also prepared by extracting Acer barbinerve Max barks with hot water and fractioning with ethyl acetate. An anticancer agent contains the extract as an active ingredient.
