A power supply system for three-phase arc furnace is intended for increase of arc furnace due to modulating control of reactive power that provides decrease of voltage deviation at arc substation buses; and therefore, improves arcing conditions in the furnace. The system for electric power supply of arc furnace comprises a high harmonic filter, a power source, an arc transformer unit comprising in series connected an autotransformer with an auxiliary winding and a furnace transformer, whose output winding is connected to the arc furnace, arc substation buses, a microammeter, a voltmeter, a frequency converter, capacitor banks, a power factor setting unit and a frequency converter control system. The arc substation buses are connected to the power supply source; the high harmonic filter and arc furnace unit are also connected to said buses. To the auxiliary winding of the autotransformer the frequency converter is connected, to whose outputs the capacitor banks are connected. To control inputs of the frequency converter the control system outputs are connected, whose first inputs are connected to voltage meter outputs, whose inputs are connected to the arc furnace buses. The second inputs of the frequency converter control system are connected to the current meter outputs, which is in series connected to the arc transformer unit, the third inputs of frequency converter control system are connected to the outputs of power factor setting unit. |
