Disclosed is a method of providing a remotely configurable wireless intercom system (12) for an establishment (10) having a staff. The system (12) provided has a base station (14) connectable to a wide area communication network (20) and a plurality of headsets (16a-16n) in two-way wireless communication with the base station (14). The method includes configuring wireless communication between each of the plurality of headsets (16a-16n) and the base station (14) with at least one parameter being adjustable by staff of the establishment (10). The method also includes remotely reviewing and adjusting the at least one parameter via the wide area communication network (20).
