<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new antibody having excellent anticancer activity, and a pharmaceutical agent containing the antibody as an active ingredient for treating or diagnosing cancer. <P>SOLUTION: By using the SST-REX method, a monoclonal antibody binding to the MANSC1 protein and having excellent anticancer activity has been found, as the result of selecting a cDNA encoding a protein expressed on a cell surface or secreted from the cell from a cDNA library originated from a cancer cell strain, and preparing the monoclonal antibody to the protein encoded by the selected cDNA and investigating anticancer activity in vitro and in vivo. In addition, a region including an epitope of the antibody in the MANSC1 protein is identified, and the structures of the light-chain and heavy-chain variable regions of this antibody are successfully determined. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
