<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyamide acid composition which can strike a balance between high elasticity and flexibility, and can achieve high mechanical strength and mechanical endurance; and to provide a polyimide composition. <P>SOLUTION: The polyamide acid composition contains a polyamide acid obtained by polymerizing a diamine component and an acid component. The diamine component comprises: 51-99 mol% of p-phenylenediamine; and 1-49 mol% of 2,2'-bis(trifluoromethyl) benzidine. The acid component contains 3,3',4,4'-biphenyltetracarboxylic dianhydride.
