<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of reducing memory usage for removing white spot noises regardless of the number of pixels contained in an image pick-up device. <P>SOLUTION: In an imaging apparatus, a CPU 2 controls an image pick-up device 5 and a digital clamp 6 for generating image data based on a pixel output signal for each pixel contained in the image pick-up device 5. The CPU 2 allows the image pick-up device 5 to capture a subject image by an exposure time T1 to obtain captured image data. The CPU 2 also closes a shutter 4 to put the image pick-up device 5 into a shielded state so as to obtain dark image data by letting the image pick-up device 5 in the shield state capture an image by a dark exposure time T2 which is shorter than the exposure time T1. In order to generate second dark image data, the CPU 2 allows a signal amplification part 81 to amplify the dark image data by an amplification magnification ratio A1 based on a ratio calculated by dividing the exposure time T1 by the dark exposure time T2.
